Not a date anyone in the rock world wants to celebrate is April 5, 1994. That is the date that Kurt Cobain took his own life. To some he was a great frontman of a great band, to others he was the leader of the grunge movement, to even more he was the voice of a generation, and to a select few he was a son, and to one other a father. It has been a quarter of a century and his impact(and also Nirvana’s)on the music industry is still visible. Eight years later, Alice in Chains frontman Layne Staley would join him at the hands of a fatal overdose(although he was not discovered for some time).
