Three different space agencies, including NASA, are looking for 24 volunteers to stay in bed for two months straight. Sign me up, right? Even the pay is decent… about $19,000 each.
In a statement released HERE,
On behalf of NASA and ESA on Earth, the German Aerospace Center (DLR) is researching how the body changes in weightlessness. Bed rest simulates this condition. We are looking for test persons who will take part in a bed rest study from September to December 2019 in Cologne and spend 60 days lying down *. Based on the study results, scientists are developing countermeasures that reduce the negative effects of weightlessness on astronauts.
Maybe normal Netflix-watching, sleep-loving, naturally-lazy-and-proud people would love this job… but two whole months? I would go insane. But it is for 19 grand…
