Would you kid rather A. Play video games all day long or 2. Build a working nuclear fusion reactor? A Memphis teen did the later. Jackson Oswalt who is now 14 years old, but started working on his idea when he was just 12 years old. Jackson says “A couple of years back, all I did was play video games,” and I decided I didn’t want to spend all my life doing video games.” Now you may ask yourself; where did this kid get the parts needed to build a nuclear fusion reactor? The answer is simple. He says he “got the parts off eBay primarily and then often times the parts that I managed to scrounge off of eBay weren’t exactly what I needed,” Oswalt said, “so, I’d have to modify them to be able to do what I needed to do for my project.” Of course his father was worried about you know, the exposure to radiation so he got experts in nuclear fusion to give his son advice on how to build the reactor without blowing up half of the city. So, if this kid could do this rather than spend his time on social media and playing video games; do you think you could get your kid off the phone and spend their time doing something like this?
