Ozzy Osbourne is apparently becoming an interactive AI hologram, and honestly… I genuinely cannot decide if this is incredibly cool or kind of unsettling.
Sharon and Jack Osbourne announced they’re partnering with tech company HYPERREAL to create a life-sized “Digital Ozzy” that uses his voice, movements, and personality so fans can literally have conversations with him. According to Sharon, you’ll be able to “ask Ozzy anything” and the hologram will respond in his own voice with answers based on what he supposedly would’ve said. Which is either an amazing tribute to the Prince of Darkness… or the beginning of a Black Mirror episode.
The Osbourne family says the goal is to keep Ozzy’s legacy alive in a way that still feels authentic to who he was, and the technology is apparently so realistic that Jack called it “scary.” The hologram is expected to start appearing in the U.S. and UK later this year. So yeah… on one hand, talking to Digital Ozzy sounds kinda incredible. On the other hand, I’m not fully prepared for hologram Ozzy doing sponsored ads forever like some immortal metal Siri.
