Wait… free parking in Nashville?? Yes, apparently that’s still a thing, at least for musicians.
According to WKRN, a program called “Park & Play” is expanding options for local artists to park for free when they’re playing gigs around the city. The initiative partners with local music organizations and provides free parking at dozens of lots across Nashville, helping musicians avoid the ridiculous parking costs that can eat into their pay just to show up and perform. For many artists hauling gear downtown night after night, parking alone can run hundreds of dollars a month, so the program is meant to give them a break and support the people who actually make “Music City” live up to its name.
So yeah… we still have to feed the meters and pay $30 to park for tacos, at least some of the folks playing the music downtown might finally get to park for free. Honestly? In this city, that might be the most shocking headline of the week. Read more from WKRN HERE.
