A super-fan of “The Simpsons” decided to live out their fandom dreams and got a genuine, legal “BORT” vanity plate. You know, the infamous license-plate gag from the show when “Bart” is unavailable at Itchy & Scratchy Land and only “Bort” is stocked.
However, real life doesn’t appreciate cartoon humor as, apparently, a bunch of tacky souvenir “BORT” plates other fans buy just for s**ts and giggles look just close enough to the genuine Massachusetts plate that toll-cameras have been confusing them. This means the toll tickets have been sent to this one Massachusetts woman who actually registered and pays the yearly fees for the real one. Now she’s getting peppered with toll bills for strangers’ faux-cartoon cars. The ultimate Simpsons flex, turned into a financial fail.
