New Foo Fighters drummer Ilan Rubin, formerly of Nine Inch Nails, made his live debut with the band on Saturday night (September 13) at an intimate club show in San Luis Obispo, California, marking the start of his new role following Josh Freese’s two-year tenure behind the kit after Taylor Hawkins’ death. Rubin raved about the experience on Instagram, sharing a carousel of photos from the gig alongside his caption: “Last night with @foofighters could not have been a better time. After keeping my head down for a couple wild months and throwing myself into the material, that first show was such an incredible release of energy. I’ve been taken aback by all the positivity and support, and I just wanted to say thanks! Excited for all the volume and sweat that lies ahead.” Foo Fighters played another surprise club show on Monday night at the Observatory in Santa Ana, California, in preparation for their upcoming tour dates in Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, and Mexico City. What's the WORST part of going to a concert in Nashville now?
Parking costs more than the ticket
Waiting 45 minutes for an Uber that smells like weed
Post-show traffic that somehow still exists at 11pm on a Tuesday
The “convenience fee” being more inconvenient than convenient
Trying to leave Bridgestone with 18,000 other people at once
Voting Ends: Never
