Italian producer Andrea Iervolino (Ferrari) is developing a biographical film about fashion designer Giorgio Armani, who died September 4th at age 91 from liver failure. The project has been in development for several months and stems from Iervolino’s “personal desire to pay tribute to one of the greatest innovators of international fashion and an indelible symbol of Italian identity worldwide.” Crash writer Bobby Moresco will pen the screenplay, after previously collaborating with Iervolino on the upcoming Maserati biopic featuring Al Pacino, Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia and Jessica Alba. The film will chronicle Armani’s personal and professional journey as one of fashion’s most influential 20th and 21st century designers. Iervolino says the project aims to show “the man beyond the icon, the Armani behind Armani.” Martin Scorsese previously directed a 2015 short film about the fashion legend. (Story URL)
