As the Phillies were spanking the Seattle Mariners 6-0, John Kruk is the one who really stole the show from the broadcast booth when he started to get a little philosophical about the invention of the clock.
He wondered, in a way all-too familiar to stoners, “How did that person know what time it was?” about the first person to invent the clock. He acknowledged the existence of sundials but couldn’t figure out an answer for himself and was looking for some ideas from his fellow broadcast partner.
While we’re not sure how that all relates to the baseball game taking place in front of him, we can’t say we don’t see where he’s coming from. What if it was raining the day the clock was completed? Have we been on the “wrong” time all along? Excuse us while we start spinning out here.
