After nearly 80 years apart, Marian Griffin discovered she has an older brother, Donald Hefke, who’d been searching for her since the ’60s.
Separated as babies in the 1940s, they were adopted into different families, but as time went on and Donald tried to find and connect with his sister, Marian’s adoptive parents literally hid his letters. Marian went through life will no clue she even had a brother until, thanks to a modern-day DNA test and Donald’s detective daughter, the long-lost siblings were able to finally reconnected by phone.
While they haven’t met in person yet, the siblings are chatting regularly, thus proving it’s never too late for a family reunion or an inevitable sibling roast at age 80.
