We’ve heard stories before of people taking traffic safety measures into their own hands in their neighborhoods, but it usually doesn’t end with court cases and possible jail time!
However, in Charlottesville, Virginia, Kevin Cox is in trouble with city hall and the police for drawing his own makeshift crosswalk at a particularly busy intersection using spray chalk. All Cox wanted was for the city to put something permanent there to slow drivers down, but instead they paved over his own solution and issued a warrant for him “in connection with property damage.”
Cox has since turned himself in for the illegal crosswalk and has gained support from wholesome vigilantes everywhere.
