Having their appearance criticized is nothing new to celebrities but for former child celebrities, specifically young women, it takes on more of a creepy tone than anything. People saying things like “oh [insert celeb] was so much prettier when she was [insert any age under 18 here]” have become the norm in regular conversation and among journalists who write entire “think-pieces” about it.
The most recent example of journalists taking their criticisms too far, is with Millie Bobby Brown as she has been on a press tour promoting her upcoming movie. People have been using her to say that “Gen Z is aging poorly” or calling her look a “mommy makeover.”
Well, Millie is NOT letting it slide and decided to take these criticisms head-on and specifically call out reporters who have perpetuated this frustrating, creepy notion that young female stars are not “allowed” to grow up.
