Motörhead are marking their 50th anniversary in 2025 by releasing a batch of limited-edition vinyl reissues of some of their most celebrated albums. On February 28, the band will release special half-speed mastered colored vinyl repressings of their classic albums, Overkill, Bomber, and Ace of Spades. Motörhead formed in London in 1975, and the heavy metal legends will spend 2025 continuing to celebrate their distinguished 50-year legacy. There will be additional vinyl reissues along with special events which will pay tribute to their late frontman, Lemmy Kilmister, who died in 2015. “It’s incredible to know that our music, and all it stands for, continues to resonate with so many people,” said guitarist Phil Campbell in a press release. “The music remains as vital and important as ever because there’s a unique energy and honesty to it that we will all always need.” On “The Eighth of May” — International Motörhead Day — a special ceremony featuring an unveiling of a Lemmy statue will take place in his birthplace of Stoke-on-Trent.
