Coming out Today, October 20th, is “Lost at Sea,” the fifth solo album by Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett and first since “Hard Lessons” in 2019. It’s also Shiflett’s second album of the year, following Foos’ “But Here We Are,” which came out in June. “Lost at Sea” was produced with Jaren Johnston of the Cadillac Three and recorded during a couple of different sessions in Nashville since the spring of 2021. It finds Shiflett working with a variety of co-writers on its 10 tracks and again pursuing a more Americana-flavored direction that Shiflett tells us he likes to do on his own:
“That’s always a thrill, especially when you’ve been making records a long time. When you hear yourself being a part of something a little different than what you’ve done prior to that, it’s just a lot of fun.” :13 OC: a lot of fun.
Other than the song “Damage Control,” which Shiflett says he wrote a number of years ago, the other songs on “Lost at Sea” are new and written especially for the album.
