For this week-at least- John Szczecina is the dumbest human alive!
He was the manager of a Shell gas station in Rancho Cordova, California.
What was a mistake on his part was seen as an angelic intervention for those able to take advantage for the short time the hiccup was in action.
His intention was to set his gas pumps for the hellacious price of $6.99 per gallon.
But, his failure to correctly place the decimal point made the price 0.699 per gallon! Yes! SIXTY-NINE CENTS!
In what seemed like a time-warp back to the gas prices of 1967, Californians (and likely people from other states after hearing the news) flocked to the Shell station, filling up vehicles, lawnmowers, jugs, Coke bottles, what-have-you!
When upper-management located the mistake, they’d lost $16,000 as a result.
John Szczecina was abruptly fired as a result, and in fear of incoming lawsuits from his former employer, this man of no shame has started a GoFundMe account!!
