The track, titled “Elasticity,” premieres Thursday, February 4, at 9 p.m. PT, along with an accompanying video. You can check out a preview now via Tankian’s Instagram.
“Elasticity” is the title track from Tankian’s upcoming EP, which is expected to be released later this month. In an interview over the summer with Spin, Tankian said that Elasticity consists of songs he originally wrote for System. Even the title Elasticity is a play on SOAD’s 2001 album, Toxicity.
System of a Down, meanwhile, returned last fall with their first songs in 15 years: “Protect the Land” and “Genocidal Humanoidz.” The video for “Genocidal Humanoidz” premiered this past weekend.
