Credit: Jimmy HubbardHere’s some excellent news: Mastodon has written a new song for the long-awaited new Bill & Tedsequel, Bill & Ted Face the Music.
Guitarist Bill Kelliher revealed the news during an appearance on the RocknRoll Beer Guy podcast.
“We got asked a couple months ago to be a part of the new Bill & Ted movie…to put a song in there,” Kelliher said. “So we wrote a song to be in that movie, which we’re kinda of wrapping up now. It’s pretty fun.”
Bill & Ted Face the Music, which is scheduled to hit theaters on August 21, is the third installment of the franchise, starring Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves reprising the title roles. It’s the first Bill & Ted movie in 29 years.
Meanwhile, Kelliher also shared that Mastodon is continuing to work on a new album, the follow-up to 2017’s Emperor of Sand.
