Roadrunner RecordsIt’s been awhile since we heard from We Are Harlot, but the Danny Worsnop-fronted band is planning a 2020 comeback.
Speaking with Rock Sound, Worsnop reveals that We Are Harlot plans to a release new music sometime this year.
“In June or July, depending on which month Asking Alexandria kicks off, we’re going to drop new We Are Harlot,” Worsnop says. “It’s been a long time coming. [Guitarist] Jeff [George] and I have been talking and he’s going to fly out and we are going to sit in the studio and get it done.”
Worsnop also reveals that a new We Are Harlot album had already been written, but then drummer Bruno Agra, who wrote most of the songs on the record, left the band.
“The bare bones of everything we had was done by him, so I made the executive call that we aren’t going to use those songs,” he explains. “If [Agra] doesn’t want to be a part of it, I don’t to put him in a position where we’re in a fight. We’re perfectly capable of writing some songs ourselves so that’s what we’re going to do.”
“Lyrically and vocally not a lot will really change — instrumentally we’re changing everything,” Worsnop continues. “So by the time we actually get in the studio and write these songs they may not even sound like anything we already had.”
We Are Harlot released their self-titled debut album in March 2015, two months after Wornsop announced his departure from Asking Alexandria. Of course, Worsnop then rejoined Alexandria in October 2016. Following the news that Worsnop was back in his old band, We Are Harlot released a statement saying they were “blindsided” by the announcement.
