No, you’re not drunk. You read that right. Drinking a beer lead a woman to her long-lost dog! Monica Mathis(any relation to Liz?) let her dog outside on a lease. She came outside a few minutes later and Hazel(the dog’s name) was gone! Mathis moved from Iowa to Minnesota, and years passed, until she spotted a Florida brewery’s promotion which featured her dog’s picture. The Motorworks Brewing company of Bradenton, Florida, launched a promotion in Jan. 2020 featuring four-packs decorated with pictures of dogs in local shelters in a bid to raise funds and spur adoptions. Each can featured a picture of a local shelter dog, some information about them and about the plans for expanding the shelter. Monica was drinking one of their brews and recognized her long lost Friend! Mathis reached out to the shelter right away & luckily still had all the old documents to claim Hazel (aka Day Day-the dog’s name of the beer can). Mathis was reunited with her dog who had traveled 1,800 miles away because of beer! She got her dog back and a buzz too! Win-Win!
