Addie is my featured pet this week for No Tail Left Behind, and my first feature of the year!
Addie is a Pit mix, roughly six years old, and she is heartworm positive. Unfortunately, heartworm treatment is a time consuming and an expensive treatment, but she’s in the best care possible with my friends at Operation Education Animal Rescue, located in Murfreesboro.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Operation Education is raising funds by selling red heart t-shirts for $25. All proceeds from their Valentine’s Day shirts will go towards our heartworm treatment and prevention fund. Heartworm prevention medicine is a simple once a month pill that we recommend for all dogs to avoid this horrible disease.

Operation Education is a foster home based rescue that runs entirely donations, so buying a t-shirt or making a simple donation will benefit animals in need like Addie. To donate, foster, or even adopt, visit them at OpEdAnimalRescue.com. Their contact info is listed below!

It’s pretty heartwarming to know that approximately 3.2 million pets in animal shelters are adopted each year. But unfortunately, nearly 1.5 million animals are euthanized, according to ASPCA, and the biggest reason for this is because of the abundance of animals and lack of available space to keep them any longer, or their “time’s up.” But because of local animal shelters like Operation Education based out of Murfreesboro, we’re teaming up to raise awareness of animals in the area looking for forever homes.
