I love a good take on a word by restaurants that make them stand out, and I do love me some Pho. A Vietnamese restaurant in New Hampshire has come under fire for it’s name. Pho-Keene Great opened recently, but,the city manger isn’t to happy with the restaurant’s name, which sits next to City Hall. The owner of the restaurant says that she “wanted it to be all the things that a business would need to engage its audience: catchy, memorable, creative, fun and to make it a conversation piece about Vietnam’s most famous comfort food, phở.” So far the citizens are cool with the name of the place. The city manager says that the name is intended to sound like profanity and that owner Isabelle Jolie didn’t get permission to hang any sign. I think that name is Pho-Keene brilliant. Have you ever seen a Vietnamese restaurant that has a play on their name?
