In the words on the legendary Ron Burgundy “Its Science.” According to a new study from researchers at the University of Pittsburgh, people who live in colder climates drink more alcohol than those who reside in warmer places. Why? It is not because of the heavy amount of Germans, Russians, and other Scandinavians that now inhabit the areas. Its because its cold and when its cold alcohol makes you feel warmer. Booze is a vasodilator, which means it widens and relaxes blood vessels and increases blood flow. Obviously, when blood flow increases, you feel warmer — which is why people consume more alcohol when it’s freezing outside. You probably knew that already though right? Yep, well now its confirmed by science. Wonder what they’ll study next. If they want to test the theory that alcohol makes you more horny by lowering your inhibitions, I’d like to volunteer to take part in that study!
