Getting older isn’t the same as it was for your parents or grandparents. Let me try to explain. Gen X’er’s are different than their Boomer parents. I have had discussions with people who are in their 40’s and 50’s who don’t feel or act the same as their parents or grandparents. Some may have gray hair and a few ‘older features,’ but they don’t act the same or feel the same. Now there is 69 year old man in the U.K. who is suing to have his age lowered because he “has the body of a 45 year old.” His argument that you can legally change your name, or trans-gendered can legally change their gender, so why can’t he change his age. Emile Ratelband an entrepreneur who lives in the Netherlands claims that he looks and feels younger than his age. He’s 69 year old but wants to change his age to 20 years younger, after his doctors say he has the body of a 45 year old. Mr. Ratelband describes himself as a “young god.” Mr. Ratelband says that his age has affected his employment opportunities as well as his love life. Now here’s the kicker…seems that when he’s “on Tinder and it says I’m 69, I don’t get an answer. When I’m 49, with the face I have, I will be in a luxurious position.” So the truth of the matter is that when young women who he’s trying to hook up with see his actual age, they don’t want to hook up with someone’s granddad.
