Okay, this isn’t even fair… I live in freakin’ MUSIC CITY for crying out loud, and the only music I got when I went to the Tennessee State Fair this year was Justin Bieber’s new song on repeat while I was getting sick on those tear-down rides!
Okay, don’t get me wrong, our fair is fun for what it is, but now that I know that Slipknot has agreed to do a show at the Iowa State Fair next year, suddenly I’m looking at house prices in Des Moines…
All joking aside, it’s really cool that the world-famous band is paying homage to its home state, and supposedly the whole thing came about because they just realized that that was one of the few places they haven’t played yet on their bucket list. Iowans (is that what they’re called?) were in for a shock when they looked at the Twitter page for the state fair and saw a video of Shawn Crahan (Clown) checking out the empty venue at the fairgrounds. Check out the tweet below:
We’ll be performing at the @IowaStateFair in our hometown of Des Moines for the first time ever on August 10, 2019. Tickets on sale November 2 here: https://t.co/M3R1wSN7uw pic.twitter.com/BlBtzbspxJ

All things considered, Tennessee, I’m gonna need you to step up your fair game! I wonder what Paramore’s up to next year…
