First off, who knew that John Lennon was an avid stamp collector? His collection recently made its rounds through the Smithsonian before being shown off at the World Stamp Show in New York. That being said, you know he would’ve been honored with what happened today at a ceremony in Central Park yesterday.
Lennon’s legacy has finally been honored on a US postage stamp! The dedication ceremony, with Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono and son Sean in attendance, unveiled a stamp design that features a photo of Lennon taken by Bob Gruen for his Walls and Bridges album. Known as the “Forever” stamp, the spread has a cool rainbow gradient effect, and each stamp looks like an old 45.
