A gray langur monkey was spotted at the top of a transmission tower in Khadiya, a village in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The monkey had climbed up the tower with a rope tied around its neck. Somehow the rope got snagged in something at the top of the tower, leaving the monkey stranded and helpless. A couple of days later, some people from an animal rescue organization were climbing the tower(after the power supply was turned off) to help free the monkey. The monkey must have thought these people were coming to get him and leaped to what most of us would assume was his death. Nope, he amazingly survived(and probably very happy to be free)! Scientists say that gray langur monkeys are capable of jumping 30 or 40 feet from tree limb to tree limb, and jumps to the ground from heights of 30 feet are not uncommon. This, of course, waaaaay beyond 40 feet! See for yourself below!
