James Shaw Jr. of Nashville has gained incredible exposure from the city, with t-shirts being printed in his honor for charity, billboards posted all over town, and he even got to meet the Preds in the locker room before a recent game. But now he’s being recognized for his heroic efforts all over the country…and it’s well-deserved!
James Shaw Jr. was present during the shooting at a Waffle House in Antioch on April 22nd, where four people lost their lives. There possibly could have been more deaths if it wasn’t for him.
In a report from Fox 17, the gunman had opened fire until he stopped to reload his weapon. While he was reloading, James Shaw Jr. “‘rushed’ the shooter and wrestled away the rifle and threw it behind the counter.”
Despite his obvious heroism, he’s being very humble about the situation, denying being called a “hero.”
Earlier this week, he was asked to be on the Ellen DeGeneres Show to talk about the situation, share his experience, and even get some surprises from Ellen! Videos below.
Thank you James Shaw Jr.!!
