It’s not too uncommon for you to wake up in the morning with itchy and irritated eyes, but what a woman in Oregon found that was the culprit of her eye irritation caused doctors to go WTF?! The woman was working on Salmon boat in Alaska when her eye became red and irritated, and after about a week, she took a closer look at her eye in a mirror. She thought it was a stray eyelash, but she pulled out a tiny worm! It was about a half inch long. And that wasn’t the only one. She went to an urgent care and they pulled out another FOUR worms! After that she flew back to Oregon and went to the Oregon Health and Science University’s Emergency Department, who were befuddled as to how to help her out. The woman continued to pull worms out of her eye for the next couple of weeks. 14 of them!!! The CDC did some investigative work and discovered that these worms weren’t common to infect the human eye, but cattle, when flies that carry these worms land on the cattle eyes to feed on tears. Apparently a fly landed on her eye when she was out riding horses. OH MY GOD!! Worms In Your EYES!!!!! Read more on what happened and how it was treated from Business insider
