With the 4th of July coming just around the corner, a lot of us are busy planning hangouts with friends, massive firework shows, and Uber routes for the post-party routine.
The guys from 30 Seconds to Mars, on the other hand, have decided to take on a video project that captures the holiday from the eyes of their many fans across the country.
For their “Day in the Life of America” video project, the band and its handpicked film crews are going to record 4th of July footage from all 50 states, and even accept submissions from fans to record their own every-day experiences.
“I want people to capture what’s important to them, in their state. We want to see the real America,” Jared Leto, lead singer, said in a recent statement.
Although it’s unknown yet exactly what the compilation will be used for, it’s believed the project is related to the band’s upcoming LP release.
Whatever the reason, the number of different 4th of July traditions and every-day human experiences across the country are sure to provide an interesting snapshot of life in the US.
