A Perfect Circle’s camp is sending out contradicting statements about whether or not the band will release a new album by the end of the year. That’s not great news for fans who latched onto the promise of new music soon.
In March of this year, A Perfect Circle and BMG Records released an official press release stating that A Perfect CIrcle’s fourth studio album would arrive by the end of the year. The released even had a quote from guitarist Billy Howerdel stating, “We just signed a new record deal with BMG! Looking forward to sharing new music with you soon. New APC-2017!”
Now, A Perfect Circle have responded to a Twitter question on the band’s official account from a fan asking about when a new album is coming later this year, with the response, “Not true.”
Adding to the dissapointment is that Maynard James Keenan’s other band, Tool, is also denying the new music rumors. When asked by a fan on Twitter about the hope for new Tool music by year’s end, A Perfect Circle’s official account stated, “Also not true.”
Earlier this year, Tool officially stated that Keenan had started working on vocals for the upcoming album, but there was no word on a solid release date. A Perfect Circle, however, have been performing two new songs, “Feathers” and “Hourglass,” on their 2017 U.S. tour. Only time will tell when both bands finally release new music.
