Corey Taylor and Stone Sour are revealing a few more details about their highly-anticipated, upcoming studio album. In a new video, the guys revealed they will unleash “Hydrograd” in June, although a specific release date has yet to be announced.
Taylor and the band revealed the news last weekend in a video that shows band members “kidnapping” a Stone Sour mega-fan. In the video, Stone Sour picks the fan up from his job in a van and gives him a preview of some tracks off the album. Unfortunately, the video doesn’t allow viewers to actually hear the music, but it’s still a funny watch.
“Hydrograd” will mark Stone Sour’s sixth studio album and their follow-up to 2013’s “House of Gold & Bones — Part 2.” Stone Sour celebrated the 10th anniversary of their breakout album, “Come What(ever) May,” last August. That album, of course, featured the song “Through Glass,” which thrust the guys into the mainstream.
In other news, Stone Sour are scheduled to tour in support of “Hydrograd” on a summer trek with Korn, although they will not be appearing on the Nashville date at Nashville Municipal Auditorium. They’ll also appear at a slew of U.S. festivals, including Chicago Open Air, Rocklahoma and Rock USA.
