It passed on the State Senate Floor, now on to the House…
If it passes in the House, it will be sent to Gov. Bill Haslam to be signed. Sen. Mae Beavers (R-Mt. Juliet) is sponsoring the resolution which would condemn porn as a “public health crisis.”
“Specifically, the resolution says that more millennials are exposed to porn at a younger age, causing eating disorders, and that “children and youth are exposed to pornography that often times serves as their sex education and shapes their sexual templates.” (Tennessean.com)
I get it… I really do… but this can be a slippery slope. When you look at the reasons why this is happening, is this stuff not happening as a result of pop culture in general? When does something like this stop? I know it seems extreme but… one day will we be facing a resolution that looks to declare certain music or maybe certain mainstream movies as a “public health crisis” because someone says the corrupt the same?
I don’t know man… seems kind of Big-Brother’ish to me…
