This love story has a happy ending that would even put Disney to shame.
Roseann was observing the Boston Marathon near the finish line and was severely injured when the bombing happened in April 2013. Mike, a firefighter, rushed her to aid and stayed with her on the way to the hospital. She remembers waking up in the hospital after surgery to get her leg amputated, and according to USA Today, Roseann recalled,
“I asked him if I was going to die. And he told me that I was going to be OK, that I only had a flesh wound. In the hospital, my mom tried to set me up with him. She was like, ‘Oh, did you see that firefighter? He’s so cute.’ And I was like, ‘Mom, I just got blown up.’ ”
Even though love was probably the last thing on her mind, they went out on a date two months later, and he proposed in December 2016.
