And it’s about freaking time!!
Obama just signed into law the Better Online Ticket Sales (BOTS) Act, which makes it a federal offense to use software to purchase tickets online. The bill considers ticket bots “an unfair and deceptive practice” in violation of the Federal Trade Commission Act.
So when you’re ready to buy some tickets right when it’s 10am, and there are none available… or when a concert somehow sells out in a matter of seconds… or when there are already Foo Fighters tickets listed for $800 each on Stubhub before they even go on sale (I freaking hate that)… this will hopefully be the end of that.
In other words, hopefully this means we won’t get screwed when the next major concert announcement hits Nashville.
Consequence of Sound nails the story here.
