Metallica has released a behind-the-scenes video showing the recording process and evolution of the band’s new single “Moth into Flame.” The nine-minute clip shows intimate footage of James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich,Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo working on the song, which was originally named “Plow.”
In addition to the musical moments, you can also see Ulrich get a shirtless massage and Hetfield cycle through different Bay Area sports jerseys. You can watch all of “Moth into Flame” unfold via Metallica.com.
“Moth into Flame” is a single from Metallica’s forthcoming album Hardwired…to Self-Destruct. The album also features the single “Hardwired,” which has already reached number one on Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Songs chart.
Hardwired…to Self-Destruct will be released November 18.
