Titans linebacker Avery Williams was going to wear a special pair of patriotic cleats, but the NFL threatened him with a fine. The league told Avery that it would be a violation of uniform code.
In an interview with the Tennessean Avery stated: “I don’t want to draw negative attention, so I’m just going to focus on playing the game.” “Once I heard from them, I didn’t even try to argue anything. I just left it alone. I didn’t want to press the issue.”
Williamson will now auction off the cleats to benefit Operation Warrior Wishes. He is offering a meet, and greet two VIP tickets to a game, and an autographed jersey as well.
