Judging by the commute on my way into work today, the only thing I’m surprised by here is that we haven’t ranked HIGHER than that!
SmartAsset came up with a list of the worst drivers in the country by looking up each state’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration records. The data consists of number of people in each state, deaths, DUI arrests, percentage of people without car insurance, and even speeding ticket history.
SmartAsset said about Tennessee:
“Tennessee is one of the least insured states in the country, with 20% of people not having car insurance. Tennessee also has the 18th highest number of deaths per thousand drivers. One positive is that they are in the better half of the country for DUI per thousand drivers at 5.7.”
