What started as just a few guys getting together to play a tribute concert for drummer Randy Castillo in Hollywood, became one of the coolest supergroups. That night, in April 2002, it was former GNR members Slash,Duff, and Matt Sorum joined by Buckcherry frontman Josh Todd and guitarist Keith Nelson. The guys realized they still had the chemistry to play together but were looking for a different type of vocalist. Then, in April 2003, Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland became available and eventually got the nod as the new group’s frontman. “Contraband” was released June 8, 2004. The album dropped such cool songs as “Set Me Free,” “Slither” and “Fall to Pieces” among a bunch of other cool songs.
