If you didn’t know this already…there’s a school in Arkansas called Arkansas School For The Deaf, and their mascot is a leopard, of all things!
So was this intentional? Did the founder of this school happen to be a huuuuge Def Leppard fan? Nope. The school was founded in 1941- about 36 years before the band was even founded. How coincidental is that?
It was only a matter of time before the band and school collaborate in some way, shape, or form. And they did! Yesterday, actually, before their show in Little Rock.
An online petition was launched via Change.org, with the description:
Def Leppard is playing Verizon Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas May 11, 2016. The mascot of the Arkansas School for the Deaf is the Leopards. Don’t believe me? Check out the scoreboard. What better place for a band photo? Help me convince the band to take a band photo in front of the scoreboard by signing this petition. Bring attention to a school that deserves it and does great work as well as a great band.
