Metallica will reissue their first two studio albums, 1983′s “Kill ‘Em All” and 1984′s “Ride the Lightning” on April 15, just in time for Record Store Day. The deluxe box set editions will offer demos, rare photos, rough mixes, and live audio and video.
“Kill ‘Em All: Deluxe Box Set” will offer five CDs, four vinyl LPs, a DVD and a hardcover book. The package will include a remastered version of the original album on vinyl and CD; a live, two-LP collection of Metallica performing in Paris in 1984; two live concert CDs from 1984 shows in New York and California; a DVD of a live show in Chicago; a CD of extras from drummer Lars Ulrich, such as rough mixes and remixes; and a CD of interviews with the guys.
The deluxe box set of “Ride the Lightning” offers even more: six CDs, four vinyl LPs, a DVD and a mini-book of handwritten lyrics. The collection also includes rare demos, interviews and live performances on LP, CD and DVD. Upgrade to the expanded “Ride the Lightning” package, and you’ll also pick up three posters.
For those who don’t want all the extras, the reissues will arrive in standard editions on CD and vinyl.
The box set editions run $149.99 each. For information, visit Metallica’s official website.
