15 Years Ago Jason Newsted left Metallica!

Hard to believe its been that long!  But,yes it has been 15 years since Jason left the Mighty Metallica.  And if anyone audibly says “Who’s Jason” in front of you…feel free to hit them in their shoulder. A lot of mystery surrounded his departure after a heated article came out in Playboy making it look like all the guys hated each other.  Jason gave a few answers for his departure including physical health, spending time on his side project EchoBrain, and also his creativity not being fully utilized.  Whatever it was, it took Metallica a few years to actually find a replacement in Robert Trujillo.  So what has Jason been up too since then?  He has been involved in several projects including EchoBrain, Voivod, IR8,Sexoturia, and his self titled project Newsted.  Most recently though all he has been up to is posting this on his website-  “Jason Newsted is not on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, or any other social networking website as of September 15, 2014 & and has no affiliation with any such impostor sites using his name or likeness unlawfully.” -Eric Steele
