The debate that’s been going on for decades. Which member of the band gets the m- well, that we may never know. But according to this one study from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, they’ve potentially figured out who the most intelligent member of the band may be.
Drumroll, please… Like, literally.
The drummer. The study consisted of a 60-question intelligence test while keeping in time with a drumstick. Those with the better sense of rhythm scored better on the test.
“The rhythmic accuracy in brain activity that is observed when a person maintains a steady beat is also important to the problem-solving capacities measured with the intelligence tests,” said professor Frederic Ullen.
I’d explain it more, but I suck at science. YourTango has more on the study here.
