Back in May, we had a contest to “party like it’s 1979” where we sent a local Buzz listener to LA to attend a private house party and intimate show with the Smashing Pumpkins. Only 14 lucky fans from all around the country got to attend, including here in Nashville. That show happened over the weekend, but apparently the neighbors of that house party weren’t aware it was gonna happen. After enough noise complaints, the police came by the show and shut it down!
According to Loudwire,
At 14 songs, fans got to see most of what was expected, with the band opening their performance with “Soma,” working in such favorites as “Zero,” “The Everlasting Gaze,” “Today,” “Drown” and the encore “1979” along the way, but the proposed show closer of “Cherub Rock” had to be cut from the set list.
Must’ve been a hell of a party. Read the rest of the story from Loudwire HERE.
