Robert Plant, former member of the rock super-group Led Zeppelin and arguably among the greatest vocalists of our time, apparently doesn’t go over as well as he thought he would for the folks in Taiwan…
While on the Late Late Show with James Corden, Plant revealed to Corden that he once “competed” with another guy that was singing Elvis at a karaoke bar in Taiwan.
“I wanted to sing and I’d had too much to drink, so the options were ABBA … no … and Elvis, that was on the thing and I put my name down, and a bloke from Taiwan also put his name down for Elvis, so we were competing,” said Plant jokingly.
Apparently, even Robert Plant in the flesh couldn’t win over the karaoke crowd, and he said they definitively cheered on the other guy!
As funny as the story is, I’ve gotta find a video of Plant doing Elvis. Get on it internet!
