Will there be new Evanescence on the horizon? Well, kind of…
In a video posted to the band’s Facebook page on Wednesday, Amy Lee explain’s Evanescence’s plans to release a new album named Synthesis. She explains from the beginning that the project is to be a synthesis of “the organic and the synthetic, the past and the present.” In essence, the plan for Synthesis is to recreate some of Evanescence’s classic hits with a full orchestral sound, completely rewriting the songs “from the ground up.”
Most Evanescence fans know that Amy Lee’s creative process is heavily influenced by the patterns and sensations of classical music, so it will be interesting to explore their original catalog with such a unique but fitting perspective. Lee even explains in the video that they purposefully found songs that “were made to be heard in this way.”
In other words, you know this album’s gonna be insane, so keep an ear out!
