Tennessee’s starting the year off right! We’re the first state to launch an animal abuse registry, effective January 1st.
The registry will include the names of people who have intentionally abused animals, including photos and information on where they live. Those on the list will also be ineligible to adopt from shelters.
First time offenders will spend two years on the registry, and second time offenders will spend five. With it just getting started, the registry is currently empty. So…who’s the lucky idiot that’s gonna be first on the list?
