South Park is at it again, and this time they’re invading your home assistants!
The hit TV show South Park took to the airwaves on Wednesday night to kick off its 21st season, also marking its 20th anniversary. By now, true fans know that you can always expect South Park to challenge the status, taking on literally any big subject in society including the 2016 presidential election, Caitlyn Jenner’s sex change, and even the Church of Scientology. But never before had the usual shenanigans actually made their way into the real world.
The episode on Wednesday, titled “White People Renovating Houses,” revolved around current racial tensions in the US. But, at the same time, writers Trey Parker and Matt Stone made sure to take a few shots at personal home assistant systems, notably Alexa. The only problem is, as the characters were using Alexa on the show, the voice commands messed with Alexa’s across the country for the people that were watching, resulting in hilarious new shopping lists (including items like “big hairy balls”) and resetting alarms.
Most people just unplugged their systems as the show went on, but we got some hilarious posts on Twitter from it that you can check out below!
