Better Than Ezra’s “Deluxe” turns 25 years old this year. The band had planned an amphitheater tour to celebrate the anniversary, but like most tours, the tour was cancelled due to COVID 19 restrictions. Like most artists in 2020, Griffin wasn’t sure what to do with his entire year now cancelled. “I wanted to do something so when I looked back at this time, I could think I made a difference in a good way”, Griffin said when he called into The Local Buzz Sunday night. He began a weekly series of Facebook live stream shows called “Alone Together”, and he gave fans the option to donate money to benefit MusiCares (the charitable arm of the Grammys), Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, POB United (who’ve joined with NATCO to feed front line health care workers in New Orleans) and the Bella Bowman Foundation. Two months later he has raised $130,000.
