Nashville’s Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood is welcoming a massive new music venue, courtesy of AJ Capital Partners. This shiny new hotspot, dubbed Wedgewood Village, is under construction off Chestnut Street and will seat 4,500 music lovers.
According to WKRN, District 17’s Metro Councilmember Terry Vo is pumped that Chestnut Street is reopening (finally), and she’s all about the new walkability. Residents? They’re cautiously optimistic. Some see it as more than a concert hall…it’s being pitched as a “flexible space,” aka a mini convention center for events galore. Cool… in theory.
But here’s the rub: parking. Yes, there will be two underground levels, but locals are side-eyeing that with a heavy dose of “Are you sure that’s enough?” Because let’s be real, thousands of concertgoers descending on a neighborhood already strapped for parking sounds like a logistical nightmare waiting to happen.
So while the venue’s promising culture, commerce, and a dash of cool factor, some neighbors are bracing for the traffic apocalypse.
Hey, as long as parking and traffic aren’t a total nightmare (like many spots), then we’ll get excited. Read more from WKRN HERE.
