One of Edie Van Halen’s most famous guitars is about to go up for auction, and it’ll probably go for some big bucks.
Southeby’s is putting Eddie Van Halen’s legendary 1982 Kramer electric on the auction block, the same axe he shredded on tour in ‘82 and ‘83. It’s expected to pull in a jaw-dropping $2-3 million when bidding goes down October 21st-28th.
The listing says, “Eddie Van Halen’s trademark style black and white stripe abstract design with red paint by Van Halen; based on his original “Frankenstein” guitar. Guitar inscribed on body by Eddie Van Halen to Rudy Leiren, his guitar technician in the 1980’s: Rude – Its Been a Great Ten Years – Lets Do Another Ten. Eddie Van Halen Guitar shows extensive wear from playing.”
